Green Hydrogen: It is produced using electrolysis of water with electricity generated by renewable energy. The carbon intensity ultimately depends on the carbon neutrality of the source of electricity (i.e., the more renewable energy there is in the electricity fuel mix, the "greener" the hydrogen produced).

Green Hydrogen is unquestionably the future of clean energy.
Hydrogen is regarded as a promising energy solution for the 21st century, capable of addressing environmental emissions, sustainability, energy scarcity, and security challenges. While catalyst hydrogen offers significant potential benefits for achieving net-zero emissions, the European Union provides limited support for new technologies outside of renewable solar and wind hydrogen projects. Consequently, the development and future direction of renewable hydrogen in the EU lack the boldness required to advance catalysis on a larger scale. There is an urgent need for funding to support studies aimed at scaling the EU's green hydrogen energy transition and exploring current trends, strategies, developments, and future directions to save billions and billions of Euros with catalysts and technologies.
Scaling is crucial, and issues related to catalysis in hydrogen energy technologies, along with opportunities and challenges in production, storage, distribution, utilization, and environmental impacts, require immediate funding. The EU's ambition for a robust hydrogen economy is weakening, as evidenced by its strategic actions to develop a clean technology-based hydrogen production, storage, and distribution system. The European Union's transition to hydrogen energy, along with its technologies, investment and innovation policies, and strategies for achieving a more environmentally friendly, safe, affordable, and sustainable energy future, should incorporate catalysis technology that is over 90 percent cheaper than the costly PtX electrolysis method.
